Much of the programming and upgrade made at the Morse Museum over the years would not have been possible without the generous financial and logistical support received from several organizations. Over the years, Sask Culture has provided a wide range of services to the Morse Museum. Every year they help coordinate the Museum Grant Program (MGP). The MGP represents a substantial portion of Morse Museum's funding and is responsible for both allowing us to expand our programs and exhibits and contributing to our day to day operating expenses. On top of the MGP program, Sask Culture also provides a range of valuable programs, seminars, and promotional tools that help our humble museum maintain its professional approach and reach new audiences. Morse Museum was originally a school house built in 1912. It started out as a four room building, but later, in 1928 two more rooms were added. After the new school was built on and the old building was no longer needed, a group of locals got together and a board was made. This former school building was designated Municipal Heritage Property in 1981. Thus began what is now known as the Morse Museum and Cultural Centre. Categories |
