This exhibit features items from both the collection of the Morse Museum and that of the personal collection of Coordinator J. Charles Griffin. Some of the items include both Allied and Axis helmets and kit, maps, pictures, a news article about the Normandy Landings from the Herbert Herald, and a slideshow of images from the historic day. The Morse Museum and Cultural Centre would like to invite the public to come and tour the D-Day Exhibit and learn about Canada’s role in the pivotal Second World War battle, as well as our local and provincial connections. The D-Day Exhibit will be on display for the month June and is located in the People of Morse Room.

Morse Museum was originally a school house built in 1912. It started out as a four room building, but later, in 1928 two more rooms were added. After the new school was built on and the old building was no longer needed, a group of locals got together and a board was made. This former school building was designated Municipal Heritage Property in 1981. Thus began what is now known as the Morse Museum and Cultural Centre. Categories |
