This months temporary exhibit is about the Canadian Pacific Railway and its Morse connections. The C.P.R was instrumental to the founding of the town of Morse. The rail line was first laid through the area that is now Morse in 1882/83 and in 1896 the only structures in Morse were the train station, a windmill, water tower, and the section house. The section foreman at that time was W.G.O Paul.

Some Info
Morse Museum was originally a school house built in 1912. It started out as a four room building, but later, in 1928 two more rooms were added. After the new school was built on and the old building was no longer needed, a group of locals got together and a board was made. This former school building was designated Municipal Heritage Property in 1981. Thus began what is now known as the Morse Museum and Cultural Centre. Categories |
